Twitter!

We have created a twitter account to help us get audience feedback. We are just putting the sound onto our first draft and will be posting it to get constructove feedback of what we can improve.

Evidence of filming

This was me filming a point of view shot, it was quite hard to get in the right position but the results were good.

This was Dani and Rosie filming the girl inside the cage together

This was when we were deciding exactly where to film me walking from.

This is Dani filming me walking from far away.

Filming our establishing shot.

This was from where the camera was when filming the girl inside the cage.
Our filming went well, and we managed to film all of the footage we needed in one day. Although we followed our storyboard, we did film some extra scenes which we are now going to include in our film. The location was perfect for the effects we needed, it was eerie, isolated and quiet.

Thriller opening synopsis

A girl wakes up in an abandoned cage, and goes in and out of conciousness. An unknown subject then drags her to a car, at this point the girl is conscious. the girl is then driven to an unknown location (garage). The girl is left in a garage and the door is locked, she is then being watched by CCTV and starts to pannic. The audience then see CCTV screens and the unknown subjects phone goes off and we then discover the receiver is a woman.

If the film was to continue, the girl was kidnapped to be trained as an assassin and be a spy for a government speaking.

Location ideas

This is the field next to Dani's dads mechanic workshop. This is a good location as it has a very eerie feeling to it.

This is ditchling beacon, it is also very secluded and with the right lighting could create a very eerie atmosphere wich would be perfect for our thriller.
Devils dyke, we chose this as a possible locatin as it is a secluded area which would mean filming wouldnt be interrupted by the public.

Lighting exercise three

Frontal key lighting eliminates shadows across the face which illuminates facial expression. We could use this to draw attention to emotions on the characters face.
Key light and fill illuminates the background, identifying the characters surroundings. With an area like this, two shadows can be created, creating an eerie atmosphere.
Bottom up lighting creates shadows across the upper half of the face which can enhance the mood. We could use this to create enigma as it disorientates features of the face.
Top lighting again creates shadows over the face, making the character look more menacing and dominant.
Side lighting hides part of the face with shadows. This can give the effect of implying that part of the characters personality is hidden.
Backlighting illuminates the outline of the character, and in a better setting it would create a silhouette. This could be used to create enigma.

Silhouette effect

We replicated this scene by placing a backlight behind the subject to create a silhouette effect. Yet again the white walls made it hard to recreate the scene and finding the right location was extremely difficult. We found that silhouettes can only work at certain locations, for example a tunnel or an archway.

Lighting exercise One A, B & C

We replicated this by a trial and error process to ensure the recreation was accurate, however blacking out the whole area was a challenge. The difficulties we had during the task were trying to get the lights out of the picture. The walls were also white which created problems as the light would reflect against the wall. For this effect you would need a lot of space and a blacked out area to get the full affects of the lights we were using.
We found it extremely hard to replicate lighting in this scene as there were not tripods that reached the height we needed, so we chose to do something else. The lighting once again reflected from the white walls and made it hard to blackout the area. To do a shot like this we would need to use better equipment.

We replicated this scene with the use of one key light. We found this easy as it was a simple set up, we would use this lighting as it's quick and effective.
